With 10 million fans so far, Facebook is still the world’s most popular social networking site, and in the recent years it keeps strengthening the development of the mobile field and providing the most popular Facebook applications for smartphone users. However, it’s said from some entire Silicon Valley investors that the popular instant messaging applications may be a threat to Facebook’s dominance. Maybe in the next few years, instant messaging platform can support games and other third-party applications to attract Facebook users.
However, users who use instant messaging applications still use Facebook. So far there is no sign that this social media giant starts losing its users. At the conference of this week, the company will launch an Android system, or even launch Facebook smartphone.
Nevertheless, Facebook has been forced to defend itself. Earlier in this year, it has stopped data sharing with startup instant messaging companies Snapchat, Voxer and MessageMe. And then Facebook imitated Snapchat and released a new communication tools named Poker by itself.
